Finished 397x11sad and proclamation so

Finished, 397x11=Sad and A Proclamation!
So, I've finished the the Beachcomber Tunic. Here it is in all it's glory. I'm liking it. It's a little on the itchy side, but there isn't much that I don't find itchy. It needed some SERIOUS blocking though. It grew like two inches in the bottom once I blocked and stretched it. I used Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. It smells a bit of silk, but I can deal with it. I almost cut my head out of the picture, but decided to leave it.

This week's KnitBits had a super cute circle sweater...Polkadot. I've been wanting to try a sweater like this for a while, and this is conveniently Chelsea sized, which means less yarn and less knitting. There was a bit of a problem...joining in the round. Joining 397 stitches in the round...on a 29" needle.
Even with careful, constant checking, it turns out that I twisted the gosh darn thing! I discovered this after 11 rows!! 11 ROWS! So, I ripped the sucker out and started over again, and am just about where I was. I'm checking every two minutes now just to make sure it's not twisted. I even had Ed help me when I joined to be doubly sure I hadn't twisted them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So...yeah...I got more yarn. Though, Ed bought some of it. I really need to stop doing this, and I have a plan for how. I also need to knit down my stash a bit...okay, a lot. While it's nice to have so much yarn...I'm never going to use it all, and I really don't want to move into the house with a huge stash (I've got time...). So, I have A PLAN. I've been working on losing weight for about 2.5 years now, and I've lost 75 lbs (go me...I know). For the past 6 months or so, I've been stuck...really stuck...the same three pounds stuck. And I just can't get unstuck.

THE PLAN: I will not buy myself new yarn until I have completed 5 full projects or lost 5 more pounds. See my nice little status bars over on the side? Every pound or project is worth 20% of that bar. When either of those bars is full, I get yarn. Plain and Simple.

Now, projects that are already over half done do not count, and since I finished the Tunic before I started this, I'm not counting that either. I weigh in tomorrow, and it may not be good. So, pounds will be counted starting from 75.

Yarn on trips doesn't count either...especially since I'm not likely to buy more than a few skeins of sock or equally small yarn. I'm not going to buy the yarn for a sweater on a trip...unless it's a REALLY good deal which you don't usually find. So, hopefully this will help me kick my stash and the pounds. A little more exercise...a little more knitting...

The Beachcomber is on my list for this summer. I thought of making it in Euroflax Linen.
I really like how your's turned out. How did you like working with the Elsebeth Lavold yarn? Did you make any modifications to the pattern?

What if you do both? I suppose you'll just have to buy even more yarn.

I'll rent you some closet space real cheap.

And! I can't believe you'd cut your head off! After all the hard work I put into taking that picture, too! >:0P

You need to start incorporating your knitting into your exercise routine.
